Easter................

is almost over already!!! I was so looking forward to these four days off and they seem to have disappeared in the blink of an eye. Riley has had a lovely few days, so I guess that is the most important thing. We haven't done much (the weather has been unpleasant) and Easter bunny has been the highlight of the weekend. Riley must have been really good again this year as Easter bunny was quite generous. And, speaking of the bunny ~ that rascally rabbit left footprints all over the house

This year we had an egg hunt, it had to be inside due to unpleasant weather, but Riley had a ball searching for the baby rabbits and eggs around the house

and was very satisfied with the bounty (thank heavens the Easter bunny brings good chocolate, think I'll have to help eat some)

We had a lovely evening with Trish and the boys last night. Just a simple get together ~ kids playing and a BBQ. If all goes to plan we will be seeing them again on the weekend.

Music Madness #7 for Mystical Scrapbooks


Unfortunately that competition has come to an end ~ it's been a whole lot of fun.
March sketch #2, also at Mystical. This layout was one of those that just comes together quickly and easily. I had a picture in my head and it just worked, without any drama, so nice when a plan comes together!!

I have also completed two new layouts specificaly for the Stuck! Creative Team call, which I can't share yet, but I am very happy with them. Also submitted an application to Scrap Relief for their Design Team ~ gotta be in it to win it!!
Okay, off to enjoy the last day of the break, need to rest up ready for camp later this week.........................Cheers

So busy..................

organising 220 juveniles for a 3 day camp next week. It's great working with kids, but geez they can be trying at times! How hard is to return your permission note that will get you out of the classroom for 3 days????? Next Wednesday we are off to the Great Aussie Bush Camp at Karuah for 3 days of super fun. I think this is my 10th year off going to camp, but this year I'm in charge ~ eek!! So after many late afternoons and early mornings, I think I have the little darlings sorted.

Flying By.............

the weeks that is. Last week is a total blur. I spent the week making sure I was completely prepared for our VET audit at work, which was held on Tuesday this week. Thankfully it all went well and we passed with 'flying colours". I didn't realise how much I was concerned about this process until Wednesday when my shoulders were aching from the tension.
So life has now resumed "normal programming", starting with a workshop with Jen Hall on Tuesday night in Newcastle. I'm not finished my album yet but will upload when it's done.
Today, I was fortunate enough to attend a Photoshop workshop in Sydney, as professional development ~ it was FABULOUS. I learnt so much and what's more I have a set of step by step instructions for all the things we learnt as well as a disk of our examples for each of the process ~ I am very tired but very satisfied. Looking forward to the advanced course later in the year.
On the scrapping front, my "Flat out Cruising" see below, layout won the monthly comp over at Stuck! and I have a lovely kit on it's way from 3 Angels Scrapping.

already!! This year is just slipping by. And so too has another week. Unfortunately I didn't complete all the Feb online challenges that I had planned, but am happy with what I have done.
This week I have managed to complete the sketch challenge at CIS, really like this one

and Round 4 of Music Madness over at Mystical Scrapbooks

This week the Music Madness challenge is all about Alternate music. Think I have the perfect pps, just need to think about a photo and of course do some tie~dying ~ sounds like a perfect task to attack with Year 7 at school!!
Think I'm going to apply for two design team calls that have come out in the last couple of days ~ Stuck! (really loving these sketches) and Scrap Relief. And speaking of DT comps, I have received my bits and pieces for Round #2 at BonsScraps, have got yhr photos and a plan, just have to get it done. That's my task later this afternoon after I do some school work. VET audit is looming Tuesday week and I just want to ensure that all my paperwork is up to speed. Okay, off to work and scrap. Another............

glorious day. After a few hours in the yard I've been organising my scrapping for the week and fininshing a few layouts. Still a few February challenges I would like to complete this week, but just have to see what time permits.
I've finished two more monthly challenges for Let's Scrap:
Challenge # 3 inspired by another Stuck! sketch

and Challenge # 4

Also managed to complete one of the cybercrop sketches from Let's Scrap as well

Hopefully I am starting to get into the habit of making more regular posts!

Today

was just perfect!! A lazy lay in ~ just what was needed after a hectic week, Riley happily playing with his buddy next door and Steve working on his music ~ my time was my own. A few mandatory chores and by 9.30am I was happily editing some photos for a few challenges I want to complete over the next few days. Then onto some scrapping. It just doesn't get any better than that. I completed a layout a for Let's Scrap challenge, inspired by a Stuck! sketch:

Speaking of Let's Scrap it's cybercrop night.
I am responsible for one of the challenges tonight:
Include 3 photos ~ any size
Use a minimum of three different patterned paper (reverse sides count)
Use mixed media in your title
Include a heart ~ could be an embellishment, shaped journalling block etc
Handwritten journalling

Mmmmmmm.....................

where have the past few weeks gone??? As usual work has been extraordinarily busy ~ think I'm going to be really tired by the time the holidays roll around!!

On the scrapping front, I've had some good news. My "Pose" see post below won the sketch comp over at Mystical Scrapbooks and my "Every Puppy Dog"(also below) layout has been picked up by For Keeps for publication. I'm a very happy camper.

In between the craziness of work I have found some time to scrap. I have finished my DT layouts for Let's Scrap(will share later) and completed a couple of challenges:
